Laser Skin Therapies - Vasculight™
and Photorejuvenation™
A Women's Health and Pregnancy Center
is proud to introduce a full line of laser-based cosmetic procedures: Vasculight™,
the laser hair, vein and tattoo removal system and the new FotoFacial™,
the skin-damage removal system. Vasculight™ treats unwanted hair, varicose
and spider veins, and tattoos. FotoFacial™ removes sun-damaged skin, pigmentation
problems, age and liver spots, fine lines, freckles, small facial veins
and redness from rocasea, and roughly textured skin.
The Laser Skin Therapy procedures
offered at A Women's Health and Pregnancy Center will eliminate many of
the cosmetic skin problems for a fraction of the cost of many cosmetic
surgical procedures.

All of the Laser Skin Therapy procedures
performed at A Women's Health and Pregnancy Center using the Vasculight™
and the FotoFacial™ equipment are non-invasive; the procedures do not require
incisions, injections and are virtually pain-free. In fact, you can return
to your daily routine immediately after any procedure. Several treatments
may be needed for certain types of skin and hair problems, but the results
are astounding.
Microdermabrasion™
Microdermabrasion™ is a form of
exfoliation developed to rid the skin of impurities and imperfections.
For decades cosmetic surgeons and cosmologists used chemical creams and
peels to slough off the epidermis (top layer of skin) and the imperfections
that are contained in/on it. The results varied, but for the most part
were successful. Due to the discomfort and recuperative time needed for
the skin to heal after the chemical peels along with the time needed for
the patient to resume regular activities, the peels were reserved for patients
who had the money to spend for the procedure and the free time to recuperate.
In the early 1990's chemical skin
peeling was replaced with peels using fruit acids, which are less harsh
to the skin. Dermabrasion was also being implemented at this time, which
used a devise to remove the top layer of skin. This process eliminated
age spots and sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and scars.
Although successful, these procedures were often painful and required several
days or weeks for the skin to recover before the benefits could be seen
and enjoyed.
The latest advancement, a variation
on the machine-driven dermabrasion, delivers aluminum-oxide crystals to
the skin's top layer and gently abrades or removes damaged skin cells.
The removed skin cells and the abrasive crystals are then removed to reveal
healthy skin. This is the process of Microdermabrasion™.
Microdermabrasion™ has shown to improve
skin that is damaged by sun and age, removing fine lines and wrinkles and
complexions dulled by exposure to the elements. This process has also been
proven to remove minor (superficial) scarring due to acne, injury or surgery.
Patients notice a softening of skin texture leaving the skin radiant and
"rosy."
Patients can expect to have multiple
treatments for most skin problems; two or three treatments for simple skin-resurfacing
and four or more treatments for more complex skin problems (scarring, acne,
and wrinkling). The treatment, however, is less painful and requires little
or no recovery time unlike earlier versions of dermabrasion. In most cases,
patients can return to their daily routine with minimal disruption. Multiple
treatments should be scheduled at least two weeks apart as to not irritate
the skin.
Doctors Logan and Huckaby at A Women's
Health and Pregnancy Center have received extensive training in Microdermabrasion™
and other skin-resurfacing techniques and offer the highest level of care
in performing these procedures. It should be understood though that Microdermabrasion™
is a medical and cosmetic procedure with no guarantees to eliminate every
skin problem. As a patient, you will be counseled on the advantages and
disadvantages of the system and, depending on your skin problem, the expectations
for the treatment. It is important to realize that this system does not
work miracles, but it can unlock a radiant and beautiful complexion hiding
under layers of damaged skin.
Call A Women's Health and Pregnancy
Center today to make an appointment to see Dr. Bradley S. Logan or Dr.
Janice B. Huckaby to discuss Microdermabrasion™ or any of the other Medical
Laser Therapies offered at A Women's Health and Pregnancy Center.
